Deployed

These terms are an agreement between you and Chad Johnson, d/b/a unable to locate (UTL) (“we,” “us,” “Deployed”) governing your use of the Deployed iOS app. By downloading, installing, or using Deployed, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

Deployed is a personal training and deployment record-keeping tool for working K9 handlers. It helps you log training sessions, deployments, certifications, and related records, and generate reports from them.

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Deployed and must use it for lawful purposes.

An account is optional. Deployed works fully offline without one, and you only need to create one to back your records up to the cloud or take part in training groups. Accounts are created with an email address and a sign-in code we email you; you're responsible for keeping access to that email address secure.

You can delete your account at any time from Team Settings → Delete account. That permanently removes your cloud account, your cloud backup, and your group memberships, and can't be undone. The records on your phone are not deleted, so the app keeps working offline.

• Deployed offers a Handler subscription at $9.99/month or $99/year, billed through the Apple App Store.
• New subscribers get a 30-day free trial. After the trial, if you haven't subscribed, the app becomes read-only: you can still view and export everything you've already recorded, but can't add new records until you subscribe.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings — we cannot process cancellations or refunds directly, as Apple handles all billing.
• Pricing may change; we'll give notice before any change takes effect for existing subscribers as required by Apple's guidelines and applicable law.

You own the records you create in Deployed. We don't claim any ownership of them and won't sell them or use them for anything other than providing the app.

If you sign in, you grant us only the limited permission needed to host your records: to store, back up, transmit, and restore them for you, and — for anything you publish to a training group — to make it available to the other members of that group. Nothing more. See our privacy policy for what's stored and who can see it.

You're solely responsible for the accuracy of what you record, for what you choose to publish to a group, and for how you share exported reports. Don't publish anything to a group that your agency's rules or an active investigation wouldn't allow you to share.

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the app's security or subscription mechanisms
• Misrepresent records generated by the app as something they're not
• Interfere with the app's operation or attempt to access another user's device or data
• Share, export, or repurpose another handler's training plans or group content outside the group it was published to
• Use a training group's join code or roster to gain access you weren't invited to have

Deployed is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that records it produces will be accepted for any particular legal, evidentiary, certification, or administrative purpose. Cloud backup is a convenience, not a guarantee: it depends on you being signed in and online, and we don't warrant that it will be complete, current, or recoverable. You remain responsible for keeping your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose — export regularly. See our privacy policy for what is and isn't stored.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chad Johnson, d/b/a unable to locate (UTL), will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of Deployed. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

You may stop using Deployed at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or discontinue the app or any feature at our discretion, though we'll make reasonable efforts to give notice for any change that affects paying subscribers.

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the effective date above, and for material changes, we'll make that clear the next time you open the app.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
